 AOM embodies its founder’s journey
through depression dating back to her teen years and her compassion for people who suffer with
mental illness. From disorder to order, her artistic expression remained intact and is a key
component of her wellness today. This love for the healing aspect of the arts led her to create an
organization that supports three key points of service to increase:
(1) Awareness of resources for and early identification of mental wellness
issues
(2) Advocacy for those dealing with mental illness
(3) Art-based therapies and workshops with those seeking to improve their mental health
with an emphasis on the youth 

 it is incredible how one small idea can grow into something truly special. artofme rva is rooted in the belief that we all have an inherent responsibility to make a meaningful difference in our community. With a variety of active projects and a growing volunteer staff, we harness our skills and resources to successfully achieve our goals.

Since our founding in 2018, we have been proud to witness how our activities have benefited Richmond city and Henrico county communities and beyond. Want to take part?
